QUESTIONS ABOUT ACTIVITIES
Do participants need to be able to swim?
All Laguuni activities require swimming skills according to the Nordic Swimming Definition. The Nordic Swimming Definition: a person can swim 200 metres continuously, of which at least 50 metres on their back.
Is there an age limit for the activities?
There is no upper age limit for the activities! However, you must be over 6 years old and able to swim. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult guardian who is responsible for the child throughout the activity. One adult can supervise 2 children at the same time, according to own judgement. Supervision from the beach is sufficient, but there is plenty of fun for parents in the water park!
The minimum age for canoeing is 13 years and for kayak rental 15 years. Children under 15 years of age can go kayaking with an adult.
Participants under 18 years of age must provide their guardian’s contact details at the time of booking.
How long can I stay on the water in one wakeboarding session?
One booking lasts a total of 60 minutes. There is always room for 4 people on one lesson, on one cable, so the total wake time is at least about 15 min/person. The shifts are about 5 min each, so each person will have about 3 x 5 min of wake time. You should be ready for your own shift, so that the shifts will go faster and you will have more time for everyone!
What do you need to bring with you?
Wakeboarding, Flyboarding, Water Park, SUP Polo, and SUP Boarding; remember to bring a swimsuit and a towel. If needed, you can borrow a wetsuit from Laguuni. Towels are also available for rent at €5.
For kayaking: Wear weather-appropriate activewear and bring a change of clothes in case they get wet while paddling. You can go barefoot, wear water shoes, or even sneakers!
Since Laguuni Water Sports Center operates outdoors, dressing for the weather is essential.
Lockable lockers are available at Laguuni Keilaniemi and Mustikkamaa. Laguuni has padlocks for the lockers or alternatively you can bring your own lock!
At Laguuni Hietsu you can leave your valuables in the employee cubicle.
What to do if blue-green algae appears at Laguuni?
In all of our spot, we have occasionally found blue-green algae. If there is little blue-green algae, we recommend careful showering after the activity. In case of blue-green algae, the client can also request a rescheduling for another day. We always inform in our spots and @laguunin Instagram account about the blue-green algae situation.

Itämeri Plogging
What is Itämeri Plogging?
All Laguuni locations have Itämeri kayaks, which can be freely reserved for cleaning at itameri.info. The aim of Itämeri Plogging is to involve people in cleaning up the sea with cleaning kayaks and thus, through action, change environmental behaviour on a larger scale. The project will culminate in a community event on John Nurminen’s Baltic Sea Day, when we will enable a large number of volunteers to plog at the same time.
